Fog of love board game first impression

We played our first Fog of love game today! Since we only got it a few days ago, its great that we got to try it out so soon.

Beginning of scenario

Zoey played Layla, a fun loving advertising manager with nerdy glasses, while I played Hans Olo, a gym loving politician with a seducing scent.

It was the tutorial scenario Sunday morning date, where they met at a mutual friends party the night before.

During chapter 1 we matched a lot, chapters 2 and 3 less so. The scripted scenes for the tutorial are quite limiting, but we managed to have the characters have a minor fight, and my guy even made a scene with crocodile tears in a bank of all places.

Its important to remember, you play as fictional characters, and most choices in game are made either to roleplay your traits or to score points in the long run. Most people we know that tried the game felt like their opponent was making choices based on their inner self and not roleplaying as they should.

In the end our characters ended up with a matching destiny though we were both short of just one satisfaction point in order to score it.

We both enjoyed the game and the co-op story we told with it. I kinda feel like there should be a way to discard unwanted scene cards (apart from minor scenes) as we were stuck with an unplayed secret, and a few cards that didn't really fit in the narrative.

Next time we will try the same scenario but with the full amount of cards mixed in, to see how replayable it can feel.
